FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Runs entirely offline, explains every correction, and even checks the comments and text inside your source code.

[Crestview, Florida] — October 10, 2026 — Brain Patchwork DX, LLC today announced the Brain Patchwork DX Grammar Checker, a desktop grammar, spelling and style checker that runs entirely on the user's own computer. No text is uploaded to a server. Every issue it flags comes with a short explanation of the rule behind it, so writers learn as they correct.

Why it matters
Most writing assistants send every sentence to the cloud for analysis. That is a problem for contracts, medical notes, unreleased product plans and anything else that should stay on the machine.
They also tend to fix text without saying why, so the same mistakes come back. And they ignore the writing that lives inside software: comments, error messages and on-screen labels.

What it does
The checker applies about 90 groups of rules, each of which can be switched off individually.
• Correctness. Spelling with a 104,000-word dictionary and a personal word list. Grammar checks cover subject–verb agreement, "a" vs. "an", irregular verbs, run-on sentences, comma splices, sentence fragments and commonly confused words such as its/it's and affect/effect.
• Clarity and tone. It flags passive voice, wordiness, hedging, jargon and hard-to-read sentences. A reading-level report combines five standard grade formulas. A tone report scores formality, confidence, sentiment, friendliness, urgency and conciseness, and shows the words behind each score.
• Code-aware checking. Open a Delphi, JavaScript, C-style, Python, HTML or Markdown file and only the human-readable text is checked. Code, URLs and format placeholders are skipped, and fixes are written back into the file.
• Check Anywhere. Select text in any Windows program and press Ctrl+Alt+G. Fix it in the checker, then send it back with Ctrl+Enter.
• Learning tools. A progress report tracks each writer's most frequent mistakes week over week. A 44-question practice quiz focuses on the mistakes that writer makes most.
• Consistency and house style. It keeps serial commas, number style, spelling variants, capitalization of terms, date formats and hyphenation consistent across a document. Six writing goals (General, Academic, Business, Technical, Casual, Creative) tune the rules. Plain-language, AP-style and academic packs are included, and teams can add their own rules in a text file.
• Languages and formats. It reads Word (.docx), OpenDocument (.odt) and RTF files. It spell-checks in any of more than 100 languages through standard Hunspell dictionaries. A built-in thesaurus offers synonyms on right-click.
"Writers should not have to choose between good help and keeping their words private," said Ozz Nixon, CEO of Brain Patchwork DX, LLC. "Our checker does the work on your own computer, tells you why each change matters, and treats the text inside source code as real writing."

Who it's for
• Businesses with confidential documents that cannot send text to outside services.
• Software teams who want clean comments, error messages and interface text without a separate review step.
• Students and educators who want explanations and practice, not just corrections.
• Developers, who can build the checking engine into their own applications. It is written in Object Pascal, compiles in Delphi 7 and Free Pascal, and needs no external libraries or online services.

Availability
The Brain Patchwork DX Grammar Checker will be available October 2026 for Windows 32bit. Pricing: $149.00 USD. A developer license for the engine is available ($399.00 USD).
